Packing for the Beach

I help people like you DIY their homes without having to go it alone.
I LOVE the beach and I LOVE beautiful things! God’s beautiful country, walks with Trey (DH), or hanging out with my sons, Joseph and Adam. I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona; Houston, Texas; Boise, Idaho; Jasper, Texas. I’m sure there’s a city that I have forgotten.
As a child, we seemed to always have been moving. The great thing about moving all the time was I learned to adapt. The bad thing was leaving behind friends. I’m thankful for the terrific people (angels, really) that were put in my path. For without them, I would have never lived to tell the tale. A great big “Thank You!!!” goes out to my grandmother, Katherine Virginia Wegener; Faye Turner; Ann Gulling-Simmons; Montgomery County Women’s Shelter (part of United Way); Nelda Barba, and so many more. I would have NEVER been able to live through this without my three siblings: Holly, Becky, and James (aka Crickett).
My parents were crap! Jail, suicides, triple homicide, drugs, physical abuse, mental abuse, sexual abuse, death threats. (more of this tale to be told at a later time)
For the longest time, I searched for peace. I searched high and low and found it by thanking God every day that I have strong legs to walk, a strong voice to speak up, and my ageing hands to write and/or type with. I’m so very thankful when I see a lovely garden, a magnificent sunset, or the beautiful Emerald Coast. It makes my heart happy!
And, then in November 2001, I met the love of my life. It took 14 years to find him, but he’s stuck with me now. We have been through many ups and downs. Ultimately, we have been blessed to keep our marriage going. So much credit must go to Trey (DH) for putting up with me; seeing me at my worst. Putting up with my dragon voice as my brother likes to refer to it as.
We live in Houston, Texas USA and are always looking for our next adventure.
Godspeed, my friends!!!

It rains, so us gardeners can do housework. I am by no means a green thumb, but I do try to use native plants in my area. They are just so much more adept in their correct environments. I will also use adapted plants. Click below for some tips & tricks!
